MONCTON : The province of New Brunswick now has a Foundation dedicated the education of Francophone women. The Marichette Foundation is a non-profit organisation whose purpose is to offer bursaries to women living in a situation of poverty. According to Statistics Canada, New Brunswick Francophone women fall in the category of Canadians having the lowest rate of college and university diploma.
Marichette Foundation has already raised $400,000 from anonymous donors. Some of these are committed to contribute additional funds in years to come. We want to bring the amount of money in the coffers of the Foundation to the level of 2 million dollars. Through accumulated interests, we plan to offer renewable bursaries, ranging between $5,000 to $10,000 to women applicants
